Most of you would actually know all of them, but since I'm considering starting from scratch, so a short overview of the components of a desktop or a personal computer but would be explained in detail later on:
- CPU: central processing unit- has various sub-components like memory, controllers, etc.
- monitor: the display that you are currently viewing this blog on.
- keyboard: the device with all the alpha-numeric keys used for input.
- mouse: a small pointing input device.
then, we have the optional components of a computer system:
- UPS: uninterrupted power supply- to provide backup during power cuts.
- speakers, microphones: for audio output and input respectively.
- printers, scanners: for converting a hard-copy of a document into a soft-copy and vice-versa.
